The Oil Consultants Competency Scheme has been developed with the input of industry leading employers and training bodies to provide you with simple and easy way to highlight both historical and current skills and experience.
The scheme covers three main areas:
Post Job Appraisals: After each contract job has been completed we ask both the client and the consultant to provide us with a post job report. This covers equipment used and the experience demonstrated as well as ‘soft skills’ such as team work and initiative. The results of this appraisal are added to the consultant record and will form part of your CV for future job applications.
Onsite Assessment: We encourage you to supplement competency portfolio with the use of onsite assessment forms which can be completed on any job, not just those worked through Oil Consultants. These forms require the you to outline the skills and experience demonstrated during the job and have these verified by your supervisor or manager on the job. The verifier can also ask supplementary knowledge questions and record the responses to these on the assessment form.
Online Record: To record your historical competency you can complete a series of online self-assessment questions and then request for a manager who has witnessed these skills to verify them. All consultants are able to complete the scheme for three HSE modules currently available and then to complete any relevant discipline specific modules. At present these extra modules are available in the areas of:
a. Well Testing
b. Coiled Tubing
Please Note: To be able to enrol on our competency scheme you must be registered with Oil Consultants.
